Reopened to the public on 31 Aug 2025 as a Visit Johor 2026 landmark, the royal gardens wrap around the Grand Palace (Istana Besar) on the Skudai waterfront — a rare chance to walk palace grounds, newly upgraded.
Open Wed–Sun 8am–6pm; closed Monday–Tuesday for maintenance — easy to get caught out. Entry RM2 for Malaysians; a foreigner rate exists but the figure was unverified at research time.
